As I said above, I also visited the Wynn spa a few years ago and found it to be similar to Encore but smaller and a little less grand.įor someone staying at Wynn/Encore who wants the biggest, best spa with the most amenities and the convenience of staying on property, I would recommend Encore. My ideal spa would be a combination of the MO and Encore. The differences are in the littlest details and personal tastes. I really can't say that either of these spas is better than the other. Encore's relaxation lounge is very comfortable. Encore also has a steam room and a dry sauna with iced wash cloths outside, and heated stone lounge chairs. Its deluge showers are better than the MO's similar "cascade" feature, but I otherwise preferred the MO's menu of preset experience showers to Encore's programmable showers. Encore also has cool and cold plunge pools (80 degrees and 70 degrees). These two pools, which are labeled as 103 degrees F, have seats carved out against the wall, and I think that style of seat works better than the MO's. The Encore spa is large, and it's laid out in a way that feels spacious.Įncore has two large jetted hot tubs. The Encore spa is equally luxurious, but the opulent style is quite different from the MO's. ![]() The decor throughout the spa is luxurious but understated. The relaxation lounge at the MO is furnished with chairs that are like beds facing the windows, with partial walls separating the chairs. I also enjoyed the ice fountain more than I expected when I saw it. The showers have a menu of several short experiences to choose from - "Arctic mist," "tropical rain," "island storm," "body massage," and "cascade." I really enjoyed the showers and did each type several times. In addition, the MO has a steam room a dry laconium heated stone lounge chairs an "ice fountain," which is a bowl of ice with wash cloths in it and experience showers. The pool was also a little too hot for my taste, but I'm sure many others would enjoy it at that temperature. ![]() The chairs are a nice idea, but I thought the position was a bit awkward in the water. The MO has a hot, jetted "vitality pool" with metal lounge chairs in the water facing the windows and the Strip outside. The spa was serenely quiet and relaxing when I was there. (All of my descriptions of both spas refer to the women's facilities I haven't seen the men's spas.) I'm surprised that anyone would describe the MO spa as "bright" or "not relaxing." The spa is oriented toward the floor-to-ceiling windows, which provide a lot of natural light, but the interior lighting is actually pretty low. ![]() The MO spa is smaller than Encore but very nicely appointed. Both were excellent, and I look forward to visiting one or both of them the next time I can get to Vegas. I had a treatment at the Mandarin Oriental spa and got a day pass at the Encore spa this week, so I'm posting back in case the OP or anyone else is interested. I would suggest looking at the photos to see which appeals to you more.įor my next trip, which is coming up soon, I'm deciding between the spas at Encore and the Mandarin Oriental. I preferred the Encore spa, but both were very nice. This was before the remodel, but the photos I've seen since suggest that the Wynn spa has retained that style. (I think the previous poster is mistaken about size because I've never heard anyone else say they thought the Wynn spa was bigger - or else there's a difference between the men's and women's facilities.) The Encore spa's layout is spacious, and the decor reflects an opulent style. The Encore spa is much larger than the Wynn spa, at least on the women's side. The main differences were were size and style. It's been several years since my last trip, when I had a treatment in the Encore spa and got a day pass to the Wynn spa, but for what an old opinion is worth.
